That was one of the most exciting experiences of our lives. The accommodations, food and drink were superb. The chef was amazing – it was almost too much food for us to eat but we enjoyed every bite of it. We loved the way the natural like grounds and the community areas were so comfortable and welcoming.
If you are looking for a great safari experience you definitely have to go to Bateleur! You can even do walking safari following tracks of the big five! We saw elephants, lions, giraffe and many other animals on our walking. The lodge and staff are superb. Nothing to wish when you do your safari here. Night/evening safaris are great with seeing lions and leopards! Thanks Maria, Reinhardt, Lucky, Comfort, Sophia and Brad! We definitely come back!!!
Chaseways Safaris on Batteleur Camp
Excellent, friendly & caring service from the wonderful staff. Reinhardt and the lovely Maria hosted us and could not have done more to make our stay more enjoyable. The focus on an eco-friendly lodge is a huge plus! The rooms are newly renovated and the camp environment has a rustic zen feel. Reinhardt and Temba are incredibly knowledgeable guides – the additional Bushcraft talk and demonstrations are an informative experience. The food is lovingly prepared by Comfort and Surprise with the emphasis on healthy seasonal food. The Game viewing was brilliant with the utmost care taken to respect the animals’ environment. Thank you to everyone, I was blessed to experience this unique & authentic camp and can highly recommend it.
Wonderful African Safari
We stayed at Bateleur Safari Lodge in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve in June 2018. What a great experience! The Ranger & Tracker were very knowledgeable and did not only show us the animals, but also the smaller interesting things that one tend to miss on a regular safari. The lodges staff were amazing, the food was excellent and the accommodation was clean and very comfortable. All and all I give them a 10 out of 10. Well done guys!
A Spirited Adventure experience!
We had the most amazing experience at Bateleur Mobile Camp. Initially it was a bit daunting to see what we would be experiencing, but we soon got used to the very simple toilet and were amazed at how little water we actually needed for a shower. This mobile camp is set in the middle of the bush and is completely unfenced. Wild animals roam freely through the camp site which makes it an exhilarating experience. We had hyena, buffalo and even leopard walking through the camp at night.
Lutz Otto of Spirited Adventures was our guide and ranger for the 4 days we were there. His knowledge and experience took it a whole new level. We went out for game drives every morning and afternoon, always ready for a walk. On our first morning walk we encountered a leopard by chance whilst tracking lion. Wow! That we almost jumped out of our skin is an understatement. Lutz and his team controlled the situation very professionally and at no time did we feel we were in danger.
Our other walks were just as exciting with a successful tracking of elephant. With the walks comes a massive amount of education of trees, insects, animals and how eco systems function. It is a constant learning experience, with excitement, and exercise in the bush.
Question: Would we do it again?
Answer: In a heartbeat!
Highly recommended and be sure that Lutz Otto is your guide!
An educational weekend!
A wonderful weekend stay – lovely comfortable tented accommodation – all recently upgraded. Solar powered, therefore, no hair dryers – which is great when in the bush. Great deck on the river bed (which was dry) – however, lovely to sit and relax or just read a book. Plus a lovely pool to cool off in the Timbavati heat! Lovely hearty, prepared meals after been out in the bush on game drives. We had the privilege of being given a Survival Course by Lucky should one be stuck in the bush – very informative. Lovely game viewing – saw 4 of the big 5 (have still not seen that elusive cheetah)! Another great first for us was tracking one of the big 5 on foot – and we got to find them after a 3 hour walk.. Brad and his Team are so accommodating, they could not do enough for their guests. Will definitely love to revisit this beautiful Camp.
Best game ranging experienced EVER – and we have been to many lodges! Very comfortable accommodation at reasonable prices. Newly renovated main lodge area overlooking dry riverbed. Still working on adding a curio shop but we’re sure it will be awesome. Great ethical understanding of what a game viewing experience should look like. Emphasis on walking the bush in addition to
Luxurious Bush Spoil
What a wonderful experience. Can recommend Bateleur to anyone looking for a real bush holiday but with luxury. Thank you Team Bateleur for the BIG treat. Your knowledge of the bush is amazing. From tracking big 5 on foot, to the game drives. The food is to die for. Not one bored moment.
What an absolutely amazing & memorable stay with great people!
What a lovely camp – I actually cannot even begin to tell you about our trip to Bateleur Main Camp – In short – WOW ! I communicated Sophia and Brad (The Camp Manager), letting them know we were going to be late, due to delay’s on the road, etc..anyways, they were so willing to accommodate us, in every way. Sophia wasnt at the camp, as she was off, however Brad was. The lodge was recently renovated, with new very comfy tented rooms, decking right around the main areas, with views overlooking a dry river bed. So natural and simple – not over done at all. Rooms run off solar power, so no hairdryer’s, etc. Which was an adaption for me..:-) however I survived with out it. Haha! We went on 2 game walks, one where we tracked Rhino’s and the other Elephant – We have been to and worked in the bush ourselves, however I had never been on such a walk before. Brad and Lucky made me feel so comfortable and safe at all times. I learnt so much on the walk as well. We did a bush craft session with Lucky which was so informative – Even I as a blonde I am now ready to go out there and survive a night out in the bush, if I ever have to. We also enjoyed a game drive which was great! The food was simple, yet lovely and just enough that you were not feeling too full or still hungry. We will most def be back soon!!! Thank you so much Brad, Lucky, Surprise and Sophia for one of the most memorable stays Marc and I have ever had in the bush! See you soon.. Shan & Marc xxx
